This was a personal project to create 4 different races for a card game called “Wizard.” This is the first suit or the Earth gnomes/forest creatures.

Each character is associated with a certain type of tree in the background.
Earth #6 and #5
Each one is then used as the numbered card in that suit. And, when placed one after the other, form a panorama.
Earth #4 and #3
Each number corresponds to a certain archetype from king to fool.

Here is a satyr as the Hermit, a spritely nymph, and a very young gnome as the fool.

The next race is the cloud elves who can float. This is their temple and the King and Queen.

The wizened Knave, the old Crone, the young Buck, and the youthful Lass.

Songs of Experience on Dagobah
An homage to William Blake’s frontispiece “Songs of Experience” which depicts a man striding forward at the viewer with a weird angel baby sitting on his head. This is me being trained by Yoda. A little bit of Star Wars and art history nerd self-indulgence.

I also thought Krang was an under-developed character. I pitched an idea to Mirage for a graphic novel with Krang as a sort of anti-hero where you see his origins and get his perspective on things.
